We’ve had a fantastic year here at In the Works PR and so have our clients

Here’s a snapshot of what we have celebrated over the past year:

January   
Coastal Communities Minister Penny Mordaunt officially opened YHA Brighton.

In the Works PR moved to its new home at 104 Saltergate.

News of the £400 million tourism Peak Resorts development near Chesterfield  was announced by PM David Cameron. It forms a significant part of more than £1bn of investment taking place in the Borough over the next 10 years.

February  
PK education gains Silver Investors in People.

March  
The brand new £4million YHA Cardiff Central opened. It has recently become the first Youth Hostel in England  and Wales to receive a prestigious 5-star rating from Visit Wales.

World Kidney Day in Sheffield amazed, astounded and opened our eyes to this dreadful disease in equal measure.

The website for Sheffield’s premier £150m West Bar Square development was launched and news announced in the media.

April
Bursting with news and useful downloads, the new website for Mitchells Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers went live!

The days spent collecting money in the cold and rain and organising the annual Spooktacular paid off for Emma when her charity group, Chesterfield Fundraising Group for Cancer Research UK, was named Fundraising Group of the Year by the Derbyshire Times.

May 
The weather and food were perfect at the launch of Steve Perez’s sublime cookbook, Mi Casa.

Chesterfield’s thriving retail sector was celebrated at the Chesterfield Retail Awards organised by Destination Chesterfield. It was the biggest and best yet! We were delighted to be a sponsor again of this great event along with our sister company eBusiness Works.

June
Ahoy there! The amazing YHA Boggle Hole was officially re-opened with a pirate-themed event following a £1.2 million refurbishment, and it’s been getting superb reviews ever since.

We celebrated the hard work of supply teachers with the announcement of the winners of the PK education Supply Teacher of the Year awards.

July   
Close but no cigar – In the Works PR was shortlisted for best small Business in the Sheffield City Region Business Awards.

In the Works expanded the team when we welcomed Dani Munn.

Mitchells tax specialist Liz Fisher scooped top honours in a prestigious national taxation exam and was awarded the Ronald Ison Medal for the candidate with the highest mark in the Advisory Paper on Taxation.

August   
Classic Lifts pushed south with the acquisition of a London-based lift company.

We got our best quote ever for a press release and our biggest laugh of the year from the one-off YHA film – Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank. If you haven’t seen it, then watch it here.

United Rental Group launched its brand new newsletter to its 550-strong national network of licensees.

September        
In the Works PR was proud to be one of the organisers of the Women Making Waves Round Table in conjunction with the Derbyshire Times. The round table led to Inspire, a network of women offering career mentoring, advice and support to other women. Want to become a mentor? We’d love to hear from you.

October 
The signature cups and saucers from Chesterfield’s award winning ceramicist Clare Gage’s collection appeared on BBC 2’s Great British Menu and, like us, Prue Leith loved them!

One of our favourite nights of the year, the Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards organised by Destination Chesterfield, made even better when James Pogson from Northern Tea Merchants was named Food Hero of the Year.

NLT Training Services’ very own Casey Allen (17) beat more than 13,000 hopefuls to be named one of the top Engineering and Construction apprentices in the country! And she sounded a true pro in her interview on BBC Radio Sheffield.

November  
Mitchells rounded off one of its best year’s ever with the appointment of not one, not two. but a whopping six new starters, increasing the team by 15% overnight!

Awards abounded for Northern Tea Merchants in 2015 with the business scooping three at the Derbyshire Times Business Awards. Mitchells was also highly commended in the Excellence in Professional Services category.

We celebrated Made in Chesterfield in true style with the arrival of Bloodhound SSC, the car that aims to set a new world land speed record in October next year, travelling at 1000mph.

December
