Josh and Natalie have just passed their one-year mark in the company, woo! Both have settled in incredibly well and are intrinsic parts of the team, working with all our clients and taking plenty of information on board.
A key player in all things social media and design, Josh is bringing his design and creativity skills to the fore with our client, the lovely TAG Aesthetics. His designs are really helping set TAG Aesthetics apart from other aesthetics clinics on social media and we get a lot of requests from product manufacturers to use the watermarked posts.
Natalie has had more to do with the written side of the business, with press releases and web articles becoming her forte. She has had a key role in our relations with client PK Education – one minute drafting press releases for their annual Supply Teacher Awards, the next ordering 30 pairs of guitar shaped sunglasses for PK’s annual staff awards. Variety is the spice of life they say!
Both Josh and Natalie have had a whirlwind 2018 so far after we welcomed Imogen’s arrival in February and Emma took a step back from the business to concentrate on mummy duties. She’s back in the office now. Note, that we haven’t said ‘back at work’ because Emma being Emma never really stopped working throughout her maternity leave (or while in hospital in labour!). She’s back now, so expect to see more of her at events and meetings.
Sickness, holidays and a very pregnant member of the team meant Christmas was a little bit overlooked in the office. So, Emma returning to work after maternity leave seemed like the ideal opportunity to have an afternoon off and do something completely different.
On one of the hottest days of the year (so far) we locked ourselves in a room that had no air conditioning. We took on The Great Escape game in Sheffield and attempted to break out of Alcatraz. This could well have been a case of team breaking rather than team building, but I am happy to say it was the latter. We escaped with time to spare!
Our afternoon off wasn’t all hot, sweaty and stressful. We also sat out in the sunshine at Cubana Tapas Bar and it felt as though we could have been in Spain… enjoying a sangria or two and eating more food than we really should have.
It’s important to celebrate successes, work well as a team and communicate – it’s at the core of what we do. Yes, we’ve got wall planners, email and online project management tools like Monday.com, but nothing beats getting together, leaving the office and not talking shop for a few hours. As they say, a change is as good as a rest!
